Ubud is known as a cultural town where many artists from all over the world, together with local artists, settle their art- activities base. This cultural face of Ubud is an important element of the regional charm which attracts people from abroad to visit for.
Jazz Saxophonist, Chika Asamoto and her husband Visual Artist, Hutomo Ishii thought that it would be wonderful if they could create a space where people enjoyed the two, Jazz Music and Visual Art, at the same place. So, they opened AS ONE Lounge in Gallery in April 2007, where the two are combined as one. The idea was really original, and AS ONE has started to achieve a kind of reputation as a new cultural and entertainment spot in Ubud.
AS ONE has brought a touch of modernity to both Art and Entertainment in Ubud, providing a light and open space where Art and Live Music can be enjoyed as well as an attractive informal and relaxed environment where people can also enjoy Soft Drinks, Light Meals, Alcohols/including Sake & Shochu, and also Rice-Field View.
